November 18, 2008 PDM

Have you read ?The Goal? or ?It's Not Luck?, by Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt? Today, everyone is chasing Lean efficiencies and cost reductions, but we all agree that there are real limits to cost reduction. And how do we use these captured efficiencies to translate into growth? Do you remember in ?The Goal? when Jonah asked Alex Rogo if the goal of his business was to show off efficiencies or to make money now and into the future? So how do we grow our sales by anything other than lowering price, extraordinary service, new functions and features? Or is sales growth in this economy just about great relationships, excellent salesmanship, and a cute, consulting ?pie in the sky? dream? Are you Interested in understanding a way to achieve a win for you, your company, and those that you do business with ... on a daily basis? Is there a way to create an operational capability that the entire market would beat your door down to do business with you? even in a recession?

We look forward to seeing you there.

Presentation

On Tuesday, November 18, the Middle Tennessee APICS chapter, welcomes Michael Demere to share his insights about how he has applied Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt?s book ?It?s Not Luck? , to grow sales by solving his customer?s TRUE needs. Michael will explore how we can apply ?It?s Not Luck? and grow our sales, while our competitors will struggle. And Michael will use real world examples where he has been successful. You will gain much more out of the session if you have read ?The Goal? and ?It?s Not Luck? prior to the meeting.

Michael Demere has experience using TOC to grow companies using the methods that Alex Rogo applied in ?The Goal? and ?Its Not Luck.? His qualifications include The Jonah Course® from The Goldratt Institute. He is recognized by Goldratt Schools as a ?TOC Application Expert? in Operations, Distribution, and Sales. Michael is certified by the Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization (TOC-ICO) in the TOC Thinking Processes, operations, Distribution, Finance and Measures. In addition, he serves on the Education Committee for TOC-ICO.

CSCP Exam and Registration

To become a certified CSCP, three dates must be kept in mind associated with each scheduled testing period. The Exam Date itself, the Exam Registration Deadline Date and the Eligibility Application Deadline Date. See the table below for information regarding the scheduled test dates in 2008. Unlike the CPIM series of exams which are available on demand, CSCP candidates only have three opportunities this year to sit for exams. The deadlines for the two remaining exam dates are:

Exam Date: December 13, 2008

      Eligibility Application Deadline: October 17

      Exam Registration Deadline: October 31
